Sur ressource-toi.org, nous avons installé Mercurial. Cet article peut vous aider aussi si votre hébergeur a installé ce logiciel et que vous avec un accès ssh chez votre hébergeur.

Objectif

L'objectif de cet article est de montrer comment gérer son site web perso avec Mercurial, un gestionnaire de version de contrôle distribué. Grâce à cela, vous pourrez modifier votre site web sur n'importe quelle machine qui a les logiciel ssh et hg (mercurial) installé. De plus, vous garderez un historique des modifications de votre site.

Installation

Mercurial

Commencez par télécharger puis installer le logiciel. Ensuite, le site officiel de Mercurial contient un très bon guide de départ.

SSH

Installation via le site officiel openssh:

MacOS: Download, mais ssh est déjà installé par défaut!
Linux: Download, mais en général, votre logiciel d'installation devrait le connaître: apt-get install openssh
Windows: Download, cette page contient des liens vers différentes implémentations openssh pour Windows

Initialisation du repository

Connectez-vous sur resource-toi.org, et tapez la commande
$ hg init
Ensuite, pour vérifier ce qui sera mis dans le repository:
$ hg stat
Si des répertoires n'apparaissent pas, c'est parce qu'ils sont vides et que Mercurial ne tient compte que des fichiers. Vous pouvez donc ajouter un fichier vide invisible grâce à la commande touch:
$ touch repertoire/.vide
Pour ajouter tous les fichiers:
$ hg add
Ensuite, mettre à jour le contenu définitivement commit
$ hg commit -m "mettre un commentaire"
Remarque: Joffrey Hermand me fait remarquer que je n'ai pas parlé des abréviation. Effectivement, voici quelques abréviations que vous pouvez utiliser:

init: ini
status: st
commit: ci
clone: cl
update: up

Mettre à jour le site à chaque `commit`

Pour mettre à jour chaque commit, il faut mettre en place des hooks sur le serveur. Pour ce faire, tapez ceci:

$ cat > .hg/hgrc << EOF
> [hooks]
> changegroup = hg up
> EOF

Les mains dans le cambouis

De retour sur votre machine:
$ hg clone ssh://votre_login@ressource-toi.org//home/votre_login/ mon_site
Ensuite, vous pouvez travailler sur votre site, le tester en local. Quand vous ajouter un fichier, n'oubliez pas hg add nom_du_fichier; pour déplacer un fichier: hg mv ancien_fichier nouveau_fichier; pour supprimer un fichier: hg rm nom_du_fichier; vous pouvez remplacer le nom du fichier par le nom d'un répertoire.
Quand vous êtes content de vos changements, hg commit -m "un commentaire" et enfin hg push pour pousser les changements vers ressource-toi.org.
Si votre hook a bien été mis en place, votre site sera automatiquement mis à jour.

I've just tried the Mylyn Eclipse plug-in and it's really a great plug-in to manage tasks, bugs and so. It's capable to show only files you shoudld be working on, count time you spend on a task and update task note or comment it. I did not try the Bugzilla or Trac connector but the Generic web connector to interact with Sourceforge.

An very good feature would be a better interaction with Sourceforge, but reading bug reports against Mylyn, the blocker is an XMLRPC or a SOAP interface to the Sourceforge bug tracking software. That's why I filed a bug at Sourceforge

No new laptop

Someone stole one of my co-worker's laptop. It's really sad, of
course, as you can imagine, no backup! All the staff has been
backuping private data on the next day! Now, there is a bad mood at
work where every trainer lock the door when (s)he teaches :(

Another bad news is the assurance does not work because it was during
the work and there is no infraction. So we'll lost nearly €3000. That
means I can forget my new laptop this year :'(

I'll be looking closer at the work of Garry Benson on the powerpc
port of IcedTea.

Argouml in Debian

My last upload of ArgoUML was 14 October 2005. Since that time, I tried to build ArgoUML from sources each time a new release was on out. Unfortunately, ArgoUML was using the MDR module from NetBeans and this module is not yet in Debian and this module uses the JMI api which is under the Sun's binary license. I first rewrote the API (just some interfaces) under the GNU/Classpathx project so I could package the api for Debian.

Now, after uploading new releases of libgef-java and libtoolbar-java, I'll have a look at mdr and also the mdrant task which is requiered to build ArgoUML.

It was the first package I worked for in Debian and as always been the more complicated to build!

Note that I already resolved a lot of bugs and marked them as pending as they are solved in the pkg-java's svn repo.

A post from Andrew Haley that explain the position of most (IMHO) free software developers about the decision of Sun. Other GNU Classpath friends blog about it (you can read some on planet.classpath.org and welcome the move of Sun about the license of the TCK... but in the current state, gcj, kaffe, aka VM's not based on OpenJDK; or Harmony, aka VM's not under GLP, can't use the TCK.

See also the posts of Dalibor Topic and the one from
Roman Kenke. It's interesting to also read the response of Simon Phipps. It's another proof that Sun is really involved in the "Free Java" process. Even if some process could be faster, even if they have a very different way of working (Free software is often more "public"), they are doing a real good work.

I'd like to point the work of Gary Benson on porting OpenJDK to ppc! Being able to build OpenJDK on powerpc if very appreciated (at least by me! ;-)).

fop 0.93 in Debian

I've uploaded fop 0.93 in Debian. As it's a new upstream, it'd take some time (or could be rejected if I messed up!). In the mean time, you can add these lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list:

With these lines, you'll be able to get libxmlgraphics-commons-java (which is needed by fop). This is a new lib so it's not yet in the archive, that's why you could have problems to install fop at the moment: #423196.

I'm also working on pja (#374118 this one is done, but I'd like to build it with gcj #261373), fop (done (committed in svn): #407018, #363556, #374117, #349376, #406109; todo: #271654, #366783, #397602) and batik (#397562).

I also asked on debian-java list: Should we remove xerces-j 1.1.4 from Debian?: argouml (#418864) and arbortext-catalog (#418844) are the only remaining packages that depend on libxerces-java (libxerces2-java is in Debian of course!). While making a patch for arbortext-catalog, I saw they don't build java classes from sources (#418866 and xerces-j can't be built from sources any more (#418841).

I have problems with xmlgraphics-commons (#418996) but I hope we'll be able to get TIFF support with xmlgraphics-commons with gcj. Same problem for fop and batik who use Sun private classes.

libhibernate-java Take 3

I was trying to build jarjar (#417591). It was needed by cglib (#386101) but upstream told me I could build it without jarjar. But then, I found cglib needed aspectwerkz (#418579).

Aspectwerkz needs qdox (#323043 and #418673); trove (#418678); and jrexx (#418681).

I uploaded jrexx, it's in the new queue. I hope there are not so many dependencies I haven't discover!

libhibernate-java Take 2

As I already wrote (it was the take 1), I'm working on packaging Hibernate (then Spring, then Jboss, then Jonas but dont' tell, it's the secret plan!).

The first step has been done, #386100 (ITP: c3p0) is pending. I uploaded it to experimental because it needed a method in javax.management that is only in gcj experimental.

The next step is to package cglib (#386101). I discover cglib embed asm in its jar and change the package name of the classes. The tool used to do that is called jarjar from Tonic Systems. So I have to package it first (#417591). I'm not sure it's a very good idea and I started a discussion in the cglib forum... and one of the developers already answered... FLOSS is too cool ;-). I'll try to see if it's possible to package both jars (one with asm, the other one without it).

Michael Koch and I discussed about the name of the package: jboss-hibernate. And we concluded that we'll call the source package the same name the binary package: libhibernate-java. I retitled #385569.

After that, there will still be two blocking bugs to package libhibernate-java:

#386102: ITP: javassist -- library for editing bytecodes in Java;

#386103: ITP: ehcache -- distributed cache library;

Original FLOSS first contact

KU group gives gift and lesson on alternatives (article). Instead of giving GNU/Linux cd's, they gave cd's with FLOSS to run on Windows. That's pretty cool to let people know that FLOSS is not just GNU/Linux.

jboss-hibernate in Debian

Today, I first fix debian/copyright file in libjazzy-java as it was rejected by ftp-masters.

Then, I started to work on packaging jboss-hibernate in Debian. Marcus Better already filed some ITP's and I'm using them, change the owner when I'm ready to work on a package and upload it.

The good thing with the way Marcus worked is he filed ITP's and then send 'block' instructions to BTS, so it's easy to see what should be packaged first:

Organisation

Like last year, I did not help Pascal to manage the devrooms. I'd like to be more helpfull so as a lot of people I made a little donation and get a FOSDEM2007 t-shirt. The event was even better than last year (even if I think it's also cool last year except the wifi was not working last year).

This is the first time since 2004 that I don't meet Wouter! I hope we'll meet next Debian or FOSDEM meeting.

OpenJDK: Wow to Sun!

Since the announce from Sun that they will Open Source Java and my complain about the way they did it in Debian (without even asking publicly to the Debian-Java team), they did a lot of progress. I and other members of Debian-Java had a lot of contacts with Tom Marble and we do still have a lot of contacts with him (he often comes to #debian-java).

The first things they did was to explain their point of view about the surprising announce and also listen to our complains and try to find a way to work with us (and it's not that easy, every Debian Dev can say that ;-)).

Second, they came with the strong staff from OpenJDK at the FOSDEM, crossing the Ocean for the whole weekend to exchange point of views with DevJam (GNU Classpath, Free VM's and all the distribution's java team). They did not come to say how they will do things, they came to find the better way to work in collaboration with the community!

Third, they prepared and managed the meeting in a very professional and deep way. They know the subject and when there is a gap, they did not try to provide a one way solution, but they proposed solutions and they were open to proposals.

Many thanks to the Sun's staff for the good work and I hope the collaboration will be successful for Sun and for Free Software.

IBM to release Java6 (early release)

Sun is now going Open Source for their JDK and that's a very good thing. A lot of people participate in this and I enjoyed when Mark and Dalibor called me to share the news. I thank every people who worked on open sourcing Java but it's not the point here.

The first thing that makes me not so happy was that Sun has no plan for PowerPC (and I can understand, Apple does not use it no more and it's an IBM product!).

The second thing is IBM not announcing their SDK to be open source. IBM also does a lot of things in FLOOS, in Java, IBM is behind projects like Eclipse or Harmony. But there is nothing for Linux on PowerPC at Harmony: platforms; downloads.

IBM release Java 6 (I read it on developers.Slashdot.org) but IBM fails at open sourcing their Java. It's really strange (in my point of view) and I'm sure there is a lot of employee at IBM who are FLOOS advocate and Java devs and are also disapointed because they maybe feel like IBM does not recognize the excellent work they are doing.

I really hope IBM is going Open Source with their SDK... or they will help Harmony for Linux/PPC.

Debian packages upload

Yesterday, I uploaded libcommons-collection3-java to add the testframework jar (bug#268223). I investigate the security alert for tomcat5 (CVE2006-3835) as mentioned by Alec Berryman in bug#380361. Alec also filed this bug for tomcat5.5 but I was not able to reproduce the attack with the releases of tomcat in Debian. I filed a removal bug for libgnujaxp-java (bug#381014) which is in GNU-Classpath for a long time now. I uploaded a new upstream of libapache(2)-mod-jk (bug#338158).

Today, I uploaded libmsv-xsdlib-java (the package was prepared by Eric Lavarde, but it was refused by ftpmasters because of the license) to non-free and solved the FTBFS of libjaxp1.3-java reported by Andreas Jochens (bug#379530).

Except the security alert I closed because I think they were not affected releases of tomcat in Debian, I did not investigate more bugs of tomcat. But I'll need it for my day-time and extra jobs so I hope I'll be working on it after augustus 15.

Update:

I'm trying to fix argouml in Debian and that's a huge job (well, the whole afternoon!)!

Downgrade libgef-java to match ArgoUML development;

Update ArgoUML from 0.19.6 to 0.22.beta3 (new upstream + open issue#4391 and issue#4392). The main developer of ArgoUML said in the mailing list that this release will not be that much different to the final release and the new upstream upload (plus some corrections in the package) will permit to close some bugs: bug#342200, bug#217878, bug#335294, bug#353464, bug#368244, bug#289241.

Even with all this work, argouml does not want to start on my laptop. It's a problem loading the 'models'. I suspect a problem with the new mdr-model that I do not build because of dependencies not documented and not DFSG free.

So I uploaded every package except argouml. I updated the subversion repository so the work is not lost and I'll review the problem as soon as possible. You can find a copy of the generated package at my Debian's webspace (click on the argouml directory).

I've just upload new upstream (new for Debian, not really brand new! ;-)) of libgnucrypto-java, libcommons-httpclient-java. The first upload will solve the libjessie-java FTBFS. I'll work on new upstream of libcommons-net-java, then, I'll track down Tomcat5 and Tomcat5.5 bugs.

The training is about web development (Java, Perl, Python, Javascript, SQL) and the whole six month day time courses, they use Debian GNU/Linux (guess why ;-)) (well, some installed Ubuntu on their laptop).

The last big exercice is often a pain because they are looking for a job and they have a lot of interviews. So we decided the last project to be team oriented.

I have the idea to publish it on Sourceforge so they can learn all how to use Bug tracker, Subversion tools the way we do in Free Software. Also, it's amazing to see the enthousiasme of the trainees about a project that is published. Even those who are not 'so good coders' did a lot of things like documentation, logos, maintaining the MediaWiki website (french).

The web application they are doing is made with tools they'll use in companies: Struts, Hibernate; they also use patterns like DAO, MVC; and they'll try to integrate AJAX in the application. Congratulation to this group.

Everybody wants to open source...

It's strange to follow state of minds of big companies about open source (they rarely speak about Free Software but that's another story;-)). Dalibor Topic, Mark Wielaard and all friends from GNU Classpath spent a lot of time talking with Sun to try to open source Java (or even just be able to get the tools to make open source java virtual machines and API). They are some moves in that direction and people like Tom Marble is working hard to make Sun's JDK license DFSG compatible and integrate Sun's JDK in the Debian distribution. Robert Brewin, co-CTO of Sun Microsystems' software group, said: "I believe that we will have components of Java released into open source within the year," meaning by next June, Brewin said. "I think [release of] the whole thing will take a little bit longer." One more step.

Another amazing interview is the one of David Kaefer, director of Business Development, Intellectual Property and Licensing at Microsoft who called the open source software movement a "very powerful force in the industry." He also wants us to believe that Microsoft will be more and more open... Wait and See ;-)

The presentation from David Gilbert was very cool. I did not know JFreeChart and it is really cool! This is a very big project and it makes very beautiful charts. I'd like to find some charts to do just to use it!

Eclipse for GNU Classpath Development

Tom Tromey did a fantastic presentation again. I already saw his presentations past years and it was still excellent. He already tried to explain me how to set up this Eclipse/GNU Classpath setup on IRC but I missed the "Don't build automatically" hack. Everything should be on the Classpath's wiki.

Xen

A presentation by Ian Pratt, leader of the Xen Source project. I heard about this project but I didn't know that you could move an instance from a machine to another one! Amazing!

Women in Free Software

I already wanna be at the talk of last year but I was in the Classpath devroom. Hanna M Wallach did a fantastic talk. I learned a lot of things and I know now that there really is a need of the debian-women project. I proposed her to put a phrase or a logo or something on the Debian-Java projects web pages and she seems to be pleased. Tonight, I went on #debian-women and it seems I did not understand nothing :-D. So maybe I'd better do nothing about this unless I understand what I could do to help.

Debian GNU/kFreeBSD port

After the talk of Hanna, I introduced the kFreeBSD talk of Aurelien Jarno. I wanna listen to this talk because I completely don't know *BSD... I'm sorry but I don't know more. And I still don't know the difference with Linux and don't know why I should, as a simple user change to some *BSD port?

Debian-Java Meeting

After the kFreeBSD talk, I introduced the SLIND talk in the Debian Room, told Wouter that I go to the Classpath Devroom... and listen to the end of the talk of Christian Thalinger (CacaoJVM -- the site was down when I tried). Sorry Christian, I just don't understant these thing :-D

During the talk (or was this just after the talk of Robert about JamVM?), I went eating with Wolfgang Baer. We went back during the Christian's talk.

Then we had a Debian-Java talk (I should be writing down the summary of this meeting instead of blogging)... I'll send an email about the meeting, don't worry ;-)

Future of Classpath

It is the time when Mark ask everybody: What do you do? How can we help you? It's a great social/technical time when everybody listen carrefully to everybody. It's wonderful. Maybe it's the part I prefer in free software. I must say that I read some mailing lists before joining some project and the 'Classpath' (and friends) projects were the one I prefer because of that respect.

Then came the camera... A team came in the room to film us. They claim they were making a movie about Free Software. Funny ;-) I discussed a little bit with the woman that seems to be the director and she asked for my email (no, Hanna, it was not because she felt I am sexy ;-), nobody tells me 100 times I'm sexy ;-)). I told her I was not one of the main contributor but she just wanna talk about free software and understand how it works.

Closing Talk: The Challenge of the GNU/Linux Desktop by Jeff Waugh

Jeff Waugh is an excellent speaker, I really enjoyed the presentation. A lot of humour, a lot of facts, it was really an excellent presentation. But Jeff, I still do not understand the Ubuntu business plan. I'm not a native english speaker and I did not understand a lot of jokes and some responses.

I messed up with my GSM, lost my PIN number or someting I don't know (I did it a thousand times!), I went to the shop today (Feb. 28) to be able to call again. I also went to the office and the alarm was on... I asked for the security guard (I did not want to take risks the day of my birthday: February 28th)... we found nobody but someone tryied to enter on Sunday.

I'll try to prepare some report about Debian-Java tomorrow. The report will be reviewed by Wolfgang and Michael and I'll send it on the debian-java list on Saturday or on Sunday.

First Xen experience

After the Xen presentation at the FOSDEM, I did want to test this wonderful concept. I google around and found a very good page: http://julien.danjou.info/xen.html. I did not read all the document and install and start configuring everything. The first problem was network. It was hard to know exactly what was wrong because the machine is on a NAT, behind a firewall and it's a friend/co-worker who manage it and he really block everything! :-)

I went to OTFC#debian-xen trying to find some help and chatted with 'jd_'... the author of the link above. Some of the best mistake where not configuring /etc/fstab, bad MAC Address, and change the tty1 entry with 'console' in /etc/inittab. Julien also gave me another very good documentation in french: http://wiki.gcu.info/doku.php?id=linux:xen.

The Xen experience is smashing! You have two independant Debian system (with two different IP's) on the same box! Maybe the experienced admins will laugh reading these lines, but I'm very impressed by my Xen experience.

Julien also invited me for a dinner on a wendsday evening because he said "I'm a winner" :-D.

Charva 1.1.1 in Debian... move to main!

Great news! I upgrade charva (a Java Windowing Toolkit for Text Terminals) to the latest 1.1.1 release and it compiles and runs with kaffe! Just apt-get install libcharva1-java (when it'll be available because the move to main can take some days) and you'll be able to compile the examples:

$ cd /usr/share/doc/libcharva1-java/ $ ecj-gcj -nowarn -classpath /usr/share/java/charva1.jar -d /tmp/ examples/charva/* examples/java/* $ cd /tmp $ kaffe -classpath .:/usr/share/java/charva1.jar example.java.AppFrame

And what about Java Server Faces (JSF) in Debian? We already have Struts and it seems JSF could replace it. While googling around, I found a lot of websites, tutorials, plugins and so. It seems the JSF community is growing and the API seems powerful. I already work with Struts, maybe I have to have a look at this promising technology too.

If we put JSF to Debian, maybe we should start with release 1.1 because of the lack of free J2SE50 at the moment (even if ecj, classpath-generic-branche, jamvm are very promising). We'll need (list of dependencies):

Mid October, I contacted the jai-core project on java.net to change the license to a free/open source one: Issue35. He just replyed he is accepting the issue. This could be very good for fop or other packages that use jai in Debian. Many thanks to aastha!

MDR is not DFSG-compatible

Wolfgang was right about SPL not being free. MDR is a library that ArgoUML will use. ArgoUML is in contrib at the moment because of Swing issues so it can't be built and run with free software, but there are a lot of progresses in free Classpath based runtime. But now that ArgoUML will switch to MDR, we have another problem: SPL. It seems that SPL is not DFSG-compatible. Bad. I filed an issue on the Netbeans website (Issue#73161) to ask if they could change the license to one DFSG-compatible. If it's not possible, I'll have to package MDR to non-free and leave ArgoUML in contrib.

Yes, we already talked about it sometimes: what is the compatibility target of GNU Classpath with the official Sun's Java classes library? Everybody skipped JDK1.0. About JDK1.1, there are two objections: the first is who does still use JDK1.1?; the second is with all those progresses in Swing, XML and all the API's that are not in JDK1.1, it'd be a strange idea to remove all these API's from Classpath! Imagine the work of all the hackers involved. I can understand the two points and I even agree with them. But we have at the time I write this entry Classpath is 99.78% compatible with the JDK1.1 API! OK, you can say that Classpath is 97.61%, but there is still some non trivial work to be done in packages javax.swing.text, javax.swing.text.html, and maybe in some other packages.

The point of this blog entry is: Couldn't someone ask Sun for passing the TCK1.1 with Classpath? The someone could be Debian (of course, I have to ask other developers, the DPL and maybe the SPI) if the license of the TCK is acceptable and if it's not too expansive. But well... it's for TCK1.1!.. It shouldn't be so expansive ;-)

I'm sure the results of the TCK, even if it's the 1.1 could help GNU Classpath developers to make the code more compatible with the Sun's one, and that's what we want!

Cacao to launch Eclipse 3.1 on PowerPC

When I met (for the second time in person) twisty (Christian Thalinger, one of the CacaoVM developers), he told me Cacao was one of the fastest JVM: «It sometimes kick Sun's JVM ass... note the *sometimes*» :-D Alas, it was not possible to launch Eclipse with it, and on PowerPC, the only usable solution was the excellent JamVM. Kaffe in interpreter mode takes ages to just launch Eclipse. I received a mail somedays ago, subject was like a spam: «I did it just for you» ;-) I wanna deleted it but I remembered the name ;-) I updated GNU/Classpath CVS and CacaoVM CVS, compiled both and yes! It works! And Yes! It's really fast! (note the really!) :-D

In my last post, I was talking about the stubs in GNU/Classpath. These classes with empty methods. It's a bad thing because you think the class and method are there but they do nothing! Last time I ran egrep on the GNU/Classpath sources I found 2617 lines with '(TODO|FIXME|(not|Not) (I|i)mplemented|XXX|UnsupportedOperationException)'. Today, I found 2901 lines.

The first reaction could be: more stubs?! But also, maybe there are more code and so, more difficulties.

#3 We Won't Hide Problems

The third point of the Debian Social Contract says that we won't hide the problems. In GNU Classpath we are now 94% of the JDK 1.4 compatibility (see the Japitool daily report), but as discussed at the Oldenburg DevJam, we must admit that there are methods that just do nothing. Being API compatible is great, but in the past, there were stubs methods (no one deos it for more than a year or two). From CVS tonight:

Oldenburg `DevJam' meeting

Great time in Oldenburg meeting all these clever guys from the DevJam. We talked about a lot of things, try to set common practises (some can be done, a lot would take too mutch time), talked about the current toolchain status, uploaded a lot of packages and closing a lot of bugs. I also translated the bio page of Kurt Gramlich from SkoleLinux in French and he teached me screen... I always work with it now! Debian-Java guys present at the Oldenburg DevJam are working on a common report I'll send as soon as possible.

The package build with free tools, every pieces must be in the right location, so nothing should break your system, but... tomcat5 can't run. If someone can help...

tomcat5 in Debian progresses

One more stopper packaged: commons-launcher! I did forget this one I don't know why. I started to package it in October 2004! I finished the package and then uploaded it. But when I tried to build tomcat5, it did not find the lib... of course, I made a mistake with symlinks. Thanks to jvw (Jeroen van Wolffelaar) kindly removed the package from the new queue so I could reupload it with a fix. Now the build of tomcat5 goes a little further... near to complete!.. Little steps about tomcat5 in Debian

I'm still working (slowly?) to have tomcat5 in Debian. There are two stoppers I'd like to work on quickyl: libservlet2.4-java and libcommons-el-java. The first is embedded in the tomcat5 sources and it's a problem because the second relay on servlet2.4 api to build and tomcat5 needs commons-el to build (and servlet2.4)! So I have to separate the tomcat5 source package and extract servlet 2.4 api (jsr154) and jsp 2.0 api (jsr152) to make it a separate package. Once this will be built and uploaded, I'll build libcommons-el-java (with this new servlet api) and I'll investigate the tomcat5 package a little more.

New kaffe snapshot and Free J... Stuff

I was waiting for a new kaffe snapshot because I couldn't build kaffe cvs head on my powerbook. Now it's ok so I uploaded a new snapshot to unstable. I also try to close some bugs. In particular, the symlink bug. The hard thing is the links are made by the kaffe package and there is a KAFFE-SYSTEM symlink made by the different flavours of kaffe (jthreads, pthreads, pthreads-profile). When the kaffe-system alternative is removed first, then, the other symlink won't be removed. The work around I found was to remove the symlink and then force update-alternatives to go auto (yes, this is bad!). Kurt Roeckx also made some useful suggestions (#291510). I still have three important bugs: two FTBFS to forward upstream (amd64 and arm) and one I can downgrade to normal and merge.
We are also making a lot of progress on Moving Java To Main. Wolfgang, Michael, Jerry and I are moving some importants packages to main. The list of packages moving to main is growing...
